Fundraiser for Friends of Island Beach State Park

From Founder and Recipe Maven Amanda Newman:

“The Beach Plum or Prunus Maritima is native to my home state of NJ and used to grow everywhere on the barrier beaches I roamed in my youth. Sadly, coastal development and erosion have caused a serious reduction in their population. Nana would magically appear every late August / early September with a bucket full of purple marbles. My great grandmother, who was transplanted from Wales to NJ, learned from her local community how to gather and turn them into jelly. Nana ensured I too carried on that family tradition of jam making. When I started SHP four years ago, I promised myself I would make it. We make ours the same way my matriarchs did.”

Every jar of Beach Plum product sold donates $1 to Friends of Island Beach State Park.

Can you imagine if a cranberry and a grape had a baby? You're getting close to the Beach Plum flavor profile. We make our jelly according to Nana Betty's recipe, as quite often the old timey way is the best way. A unique mix of plum, and strawberry notes with a distinctly tart skin our jelly is enhanced by the addition of a splash of Chambord whose wonderfully rich, semi-sweet, and intense flavor of black raspberries blends so well to balance the tartness of the Beach plums. Enjoy on a charcuterie board with hard nutty cheeses or whipped into cream cheese or creme fraiche to spread on your bread of choice you can't go wrong with this sublime beauty.
